This handsome 300 page hardback is packed full of photographs of the glamorous old ruling house of Egypt and has just been published by Sherif Boraie in Cairo. The book has been edited from the diary of Princess Nevine Halim (assisted by that of her mother and grandmother) to take us on a journey from one world war to the next, from Egypt to Europe to the USA, from a world of privilege to social pariah. We meet her father, the handsome Prince Abbas Halim, who fought for the Ottoman Empire, who championed the poor and would clash with his cousin, the King of Egypt.
